Samba Colorado’s Dance Ensemble

Members are trained in Brazilian cultural dances, choreography, ensemble work, improvisation, Silvestre Technique and Performance. Styles include, but are not limited to: Samba do Rio (Carnival Style), Malandro (Men Style Samba), Afro-Brazilian Dance, and Orixa Inspired Songs & Movement. Our vision is to provide a platform for dancers and non-dancers to come together to learn, create and express themselves working with an ensemble through performance and community building. You will have the opportunity to represent Samba Colorado and perform in several events, community programs and festivals throughout the year. Travel and work-study opportunities outside of Colorado include Salsa Congresses, California Brazil Camp and Silvestre Tecnica Intensive in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil.

Ensemble rehearsals are every Sunday from 11am-2:30pm.  Summer Scholarships auditions will be in May 2018. Season 6 Auditions will take place September 2018. All those interested in joining the Ensemble are required to complete one semester of classes and audition in order to be considered for membership.
