DENVER – Join Samba Colorado Dance School & Company for Dancetopia!, a special one-night event to celebrate world dance and raise funds to bring distinguished dance and music teachers to the Denver and Boulder area!

The dance party takes place on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Syntax Physic Opera on 554 S. Broadway in Denver. Kebrina Josefina De Jesus, founder and director of Samba Colorado Dance School & Company, will kick off the night at 7pm with a Zouk dance lesson.  Dancetopia! will continue with a sizzling dance party and live performances from spectacular artists, including Canto Do Galo Capoeira, Colorado NewStyle, Natalia Perez del Villar, Worm Tank Crew, Khadijah, and more.

Samba Colorado is thrilled to announce that DJ Locutor Enamorado will headline the night, spinning high energy, original dance beats from around the globe. Featured in many of California’s top clubs, his mission is to “provide the soundtrack that allows people to lose their minds, jump up and down, enthusiastically dance, and have a great time.” DJ Locutor Enamorado’s unmatched ability to bring people together through music and dance will guarantee attendees a night to remember!

The goal of the event is to raise funds necessary to bring leading master teachers and performers

from Brazil to the Denver and Boulder area. Samba Colorado’s vision is to collaborate with such leaders to foster an environment of community involvement, cultural awareness, and strengthened understanding of creative expression through music and dance. Last year, with help from generous donations, Samba Colorado hosted Roseangela Silvestre, founder of the Silvestre Technique and prominent choreographer, as she led workshops and classes for the local community. Samba Colorado plans to bring her back for a second year, and hopes to raise funds to sponsor a music residency with Jorge Alabê, world-class Brazilian drummer and former director of percussion for the internationally famous Oba-Oba performing group.
